The Mississippi State Bulldogs beat the Oregon State Beavers for the second time this week to reach the finals of the 2013 College World Series.
Mississippi State right-hander Kendall Graveman (7-5, 3.17) pitched into the sixth inning allowing four hits, one earned run, one walk and he struck out two, and Hunter Renfroe hit a three-run homer to back up the effort in the 4-1 win.
From there Ross Mitchell and Jonathan Holder shut the door on Mississippi State, with Holder getting the last two outs for his 21st save. Mississippi State advances to Monday night’s championship finals where they will meet either UCLA or North Carolina.
Oregon State (52-13) went 2-2 in its first CWS appearance since winning back-to-back national titles in 2006-07. Freshman left-hander Andrew Moore (14-2) pitched 4 2/3 innings allowed for on runs and nine hits, while tossing 69 pitches.
