Kevin Youkilis had three at bats in extended spring training on Tuesday along with numerous other Yankees players from the walking wounded.
Youkilis is expected to swing the bat a few more games before beginning a rehab assignment.
New York does not seem in a rush to push Youkilis, who has battled chronic back problems the last few seasons.
After failed attempts with Jayson Nix and Chris Nelson taking over third base duties, New York called up prospect, David Adams on May 15th. Adams has started his major league career 6/18 with a home run and delivered solid defense at the hot corner.
New York is likely to want to give Adams as long of a rope as possible with an option to hand him the full reigns, possibly as early as 2014.
