The Los Angeles Angels are optimistic Jered Weaver, the team’s ace, might return to action next week.
Weaver, recovering from an injured elbow, is currently performing well in extended spring training and may not require much of a rehab assignment (if at all) to return to action for the Angels.
Fantasy Play: Jered Weaver is an essential factor for the Angels and any fantasy owner who drafted him only to watch as their starting stud lost velocity in April and eventually landed on an extended trip to the DL.
If Weaver returns next week, he is likely going to take Joe Blanton‘s spot. Weaver’s fractured elbow is fully healed and he is now waiting on receiving the go-ahead in terms of his velocity. The Angels don’t want to repeat the mistake of having its ace pitch with a limited arsenal.
