Jedd Gyorko Homers Again In Padres Win

prospect newsJedd Gyorko is no stranger to hitting home runs. He hit  30 home runs last season  spending his time between AA and AAA. Gyorko  also hit four home runs this spring.  a popular sleeper pick in most fantasy drafts Gyorko got off to a slow start  hitting .244/.347/.317 in 49 plate appearances and went  homeless in his first 96 at-bats.

Things may be about to change. Gyorko  entered last night’s game batting .340 (17 for 50) with six doubles, two home runs and four RBI in his last 13 games. After hitting his third home run of the season and second in as many days is hitting .267,  with those three home runs coming in his last 21 at-bats.

Fantasy Play:  There was a mass exodus of Gyorko owners because of the slow start.  While holding down third base until Chase Headley returned, Gyorko struggled but may be on the verge of turning that around.  He is held by only 38% of owners in ESPN leagues and power at second base is not easy to find,  grab him if he is there. Qualifying at third base won’t hurt you either.
