It was only a matter of time before the Atlanta Braves Justin Upton and B.J. Upton homered in the same game. B.J led off the ninth inning with a home run and brother Justin followed an out later with one of his own to lead the Atlanta Braves over the Chicago Cubs 6-5. The Braves rallied from a 5-1 deficit with three runs in the eighth off Kyuji Fujikawa and two in the ninth off Carlos Marmol.
The Cubs had taken a 5-1 lead on Nate Schierholtz‘s RBI single, Anthony Rizzo‘s two-run homer,Luis Valbuena‘s solo shot and Welington Castillo‘s RBI single, but Chicago left the bases loaded against Anthony Varvaro and Cory Gearrin in the eighth.
Justin went 3 for 5 with two RBIs. He also homered in the first and now has five homers in Atlanta’s first five games. B.J. who entered the game 0 for 16 with nine strikeouts singled in the seventh inning for his first hit of 2013.

Los Angeles 1 Pittsburgh 0 – Clayton Kershaw tossed seven shutout innings and struck out nine Pittsburgh Pirates allowing just two hits and walking one to lead the Dodgers over the Pirates. Brandon League earned his second save of the season.
Washington 7 -Cincinnati 6 Rafael Soriano blew his first save of the season for Washington, but the Nats picked him up in the bottom of the inning to score a 7-6 victory over the Cincinnati Reds in an extra inning contest. Bryce Harper and Ian Desmond homered for Washington. Shin-Sin-Choo Homered for Cincinnati.
New York 7 Miami 3 – John Buck drove in four runs to lead the New York Mets over the Miami Marlins. Ricky Nolasco pitched into the sixth inning for Miami allowing three earned runs. David Wright chipped in with three hits for the Mets.
St. Louis 6 San Francisco 3 – Shelby Miller pitched into the sixth inning for the St. Louis Cardinals allowing two runs while striking out four in St. Louis beat the San Francisco Giants 6-3
Arizona 9 Milwaukee 2 – Arizona pounded Milwaukee pitching for 16 heads and nine runs to beat the Brewers 9-2. Jason Kubel, Paul Goldschmidt and Aaron Hill each homered and Patrick Corbin pitched six solid innings for the Diamondbacks.
Colorado 6 San Diego 3 – Jon Garland threw six sharp innings as the Colorado Rockies beat the San Diego Padres 6-3. Michael Cuddyer led the Rockies with three hits and four RBI including a two-run home run.
