Boston Red Sox: Ryan Kalish Surgery Successful

Red SoxThe Boston Red Sox announced that outfielder Ryan Kalish underwent  a successful arthroscopic surgery on his right shoulder.  Kalish’s right shoulder arthroscopy and posterior labrum repair were performed by Dr. Lewis Yocum.  Kalish played in 36 major league games in 2012 and had a .229 batting average with 22 hits and 5 RBIs. Kalish missed much of last season recovering from surgery on his left shoulder.

Kalish is expected to make a full recovery, but likely will not be available for Spring Training.   This year, with his surgery coming nearly two months later, the Sox expect that his 2013 campaign will start even later, even as the fact that the surgery was done on his non-throwing shoulder suggests that the rehab might not require quite as much time.
