The Los Angeles Dodgers acquired veteran utility man Skip Schumaker from the St. Louis Cardinals according to Dylan Hernandez of the Los Angeles Times.

Schumaker had a .276/.339/.368 slash line, with one home run and 28 RBI in 304 plate appearances.

Schumaker is scheduled to make $1.5 million in 2013. Minor league shortstop Jake Lemmerman is coming back to the Cardinals from the Dodgers in the trade.

He will likely be used in multiple positions for Los Angeles and will become a free agent at the end of next season.
