New York 1 – Cincinnati 6 – Todd Frazier and Scott Rolen hit back-to-back home runs to back up the pitching of Mike Leake. Leake allowed four hits and no walks and struck out four in the complete-game victory.
Jay Bruce homered for the Reds for the third consecutive game. R.A. Dickey that the loss for the Mets after allowing five earned runs and 10 hits in six innings. Dickey struck out nine.

Washington 6 – San Francisco 4 – Stephen Strasburg won his 14th game and struck out seven in six innings of work allowing two runs to beat the Giants 6-4 . Tim Lincecum gave up four runs and eight hits in four innings for San Francisco. Jayson Werth went 2-for-4 and had three RBI for the Nationals. before the game began it was announced that All-Star outfielder Mellky Cabrera would be suspended 50 games for violating MLB’s drug policy.
Houston 2 – Chicago 7 – David DeJesus hit two home runs for the Cubs to back up the pitching of Justin Germano. Starlin Castro had three hits including a home run for the Cubs. Bud Noris pitched into the fourth inning and gave up six earned runs on eight hits. He also allowed three home runs
Philadelphia 2 – Miami 9 – Roy Halladay pitched seven innings, struck out seven and gave up three earned runs in a loss to the Miami Marlins. Greg Dobbs hit his fourth home run in the sixth inning off Halladay. Ty Wigginton homered for the Phillies.
San Diego 1 – Atlanta 6 – Paul Maholm threw seven strong innings and Dan Uggla drove in three runs with his 15th homer of the year for the Braves.
Los Angeles 9 – Pittsburgh 2 – Matt Kemp and Hanley Ramirez homered to back up the pitching of Clayton Kershaw and the Dodgers beat the Pirates 9-3. Wandy Rodriguez gave up five earned runs in 5 2/3 innings, on 10 hits. He walked one and struck out one. Andre Eithier and Shane Victorino each had three hits for Los Angeles. Andrew McCutchen hit is 24th home run for the Pirates
Arizona – St. Louis – Adam Wainwright pitched six innings for St. Louis, giving up two earned runs and striking out five. David Freese and Allen Craig homered for the Cardinals. Paul Goldschmidt hit a home run for Arizona
