Cincinnati Reds strengthened an already strong bullpen by adding Jonathan Broxton from the Kansas City Royals in a trade this afternoon.
Broxton is pitching to a 2.27 ERA across 35 2/3 innings. he has 23 saves and is on a one-year deal with approximately $1.4 million remaining in the deal for the season. The Reds sent Triple-A LHP Donnie Joseph and Double-A RHP J.C. Sulbaran to the Royals
The Reds bullpen already features Sean Marshall and Aroldis Chapman, and Broxton gives manager Dusty Baker another power arm to call upon.
