Chicago White Sox ace Chris Sale will miss his next start with what is being described as a ” dead arm”. The White Sox plan to take care of Sale who is converting from a reliever last year, to a starter this year.
Sale has struggled through his last two starts allowing five runs in each.
White Sox general manager Kenny Williams made a trade on Saturday with the Twins and acquired Francisco Liriano, for Eduardo Escobar and Pedro Hernandez , anticipating the dog days of summer, and the possibility of resting some of the White Sox starters.
“Nothing terrible, nothing anyone else doesn’t go through.”We all feel this is something that’s going to benefit us and benefit myself — a few extra days off so the next couple months we can make a push and get after it.” said Sale.
White Sox manager Robin Ventura said that the White Sox may use a six man rotation through the end of the summer to keep the starters fresh. At this point, is one start, but certainly worth keeping an eye on.
