Miami Marlins outfielder Logan Morrison was placed on the 15 day disabled list with a bad knee, that could require surgery and in and his 2012 season.
Morrison has been playing with the injury since May, and obviously has been in discomfort since then.
Morrison is batting .230/.308/.399,with 11 home runs and 36 RBI through 93 games.
An MRI in May showed a new tear in the tendon from a suture, made in that surgery.
“From what I was told, there’s a suture that was made to keep the patella tendon together, and because I tried to ramp up activity so much it opened back up,” Morrison said
the likelihood of shutting Morrison down for the remainder of the year is strong, given the fact that the Marlins are in sell mode and regrouping and restructuring the team.
