TORONTO – The Toronto Blue Jays welcomed Tiger starter Anibal Sanchez to the American League with three home runs to beat the Tigers 5-1 .
Edwin Encarnacion, Colby Rasmus and Yunel Escobar all homered.
After taking over first place from the Chicago White Sox the Tigers have now lost four of five games and have fallen back to second place in the American League central division.
Sanchez gave up five runs in six innings of work. He threw 96 pitches and struck out three
