AL Recaps – Indians Solve Verlander Late For Win Over the Tigers

Travis Hafner Cleveland Indians NewsCLEVELAND – The Cleveland Indians scored four runs off Tigers ace Justin Verlander, behind the home runs by Carlos Santana and Travis Hafner to beat the Tigers. Delmon Young homered for the Tigers.

The teams combined for 20 hits. Verlander fell to 11-6 on the year.

Chris Perez picked up his 29th save of the season in a somewhat shaky ninth inning.

The win put the Indians 3 1/2 games behind the Chicago White Sox in the American League Central Division.
