Carlos Quentin was bringing about lots of interest from prospective buyers before the trade deadline.
Apparently, the San Diego Padres have decided to hold on to Quentin, for now.
New ownership plans to build the Padres around Quentin.
The team is also interested in in signing closer Huston Street, and feels they are in good position to do so.
