In a classic pitchers duel, Minnesota’s Francisco Liriano struck out 10 batters in six innings, allowed four hits and two runs.
The Twins outhit the Orioles 8-5 . Jim Johnson came on in the ninth-inning to record his 27th save of the season. It was only the second victory for the Orioles since the All-Star break.

Cleveland 10 – Tampa Bay 6 – The Cleveland Indians scored five runs in the seventh inning and overcame a four-run deficit to beat the Tampa Bay Rays 10-6. Carlos Santana‘s three-run homer keyed the rally. The Indians have won two out of three games against the Rays.
Boston 10 – Chicago 1 – the news that David Ortiz was going to the disabled list didn’t seem to affect the Red Sox offense tonight. Cody Ross hit two three-run homers, and Red Sox starter Felix Doubront earn his 10th victory, as the Red Sox beat the Chicago White Sox 10-1 . The Red Sox had 14 hits compared to the White Sox four.
Detroit 7 – Los Angeles 2 – the Detroit Tigers scored seven runs off Los Angeles Angels starter CJ Wilson and beat the Angels 7-2 . Doug Fister gave up one earned run in eight innings and struck out a season-high 10 batters
Kansas City 8 – Seattle 7 – Billy Butler led off the ninth inning with a solo home run in the Kansas City Royals walked off in victory over the Seattle Mariners 8-7 .
