The Boston Red Sox are about to get their center-fielder back from the disabled list.
Jacoby Elsberry is expected to be activated Friday when the team travels to St. Petersburg to play the Tampa Bay Rays.
The Red Sox also expect left-fielder Carl Crawford to be back with the team shortly. That being the case, the Red Sox would be looking to move extra outfielders in a trade.
While is hitting line .185/.290/.370 is not that impressive, Ellsbury is healthy and expected to contribute in a major way for the Red Sox the rest of the season.
So the plan is for Red Sox to activate Jacoby Ellsbury on Friday and Clay Buchholz on Sat. Trying to deal an OF, preferably Sweeney.
