Markakis has been on the disabled list for the past six weeks with a broken hamate bone in his right wrist. Markakis will be the regular right fielder when he returns.
The Orioles have started five different players and right-field during his absence.
The Orioles recently added designated hitter Jim Thome and are expected to be very active during the upcoming trade market.
Now with their offense getting back to full speed, look for the Orioles to focus on acquiring starting pitching.
The Orioles staff has been decimated through injury and ineffectiveness.
