Prince Fielder Wins His 2nd Home Run Derby

prince fielder home run derbyPrince Fielder was the last man to qualify for the second round of the 2012 All-Star Game Home Run Derby, but got stronger each round and went on to win his second home run Derby.

Fielder also won in 2009 and joins Ken Griffey Jr. as the only multiple winners of the fan favorite, Home Run Derby.

Fielder hit only five home runs in the first round of the competition, but added 11 to qualify for the finals. fielder also hit the longest home run of the competition at 476 feet.

The Toronto Blue Jays José Bautista led the competition after the first round with 11, and added only to in the second round, but still qualified for the final. Bautista hit X home runs in the final.  The Los Angeles Angels Mark Trumbo and the St. Louis Cardinals Carlos Beltran finished third and fourth.

Last year’s winner in this year’s captain New York Yankees Robinson to know what shut out in this year’s competition and finished with no home runs.

The Los Angeles Dodgers Matt Kemp who is rehabbing his hamstring, .  Participated in added one home run.

The Pittsburgh Pirates Andrew McCutchen at four home runs and Carlos Gonzalez of the Rockies also had four home runs.
