Shortly after the Miami Marlins completed a trade with the Houston Astros for first baseman Carlos Lee, the team optioned Gaby Sanchez to Triple-A New Orleans.
Joe Capozzi of the Palm Beach Post, reported that Sanchez was optioned less than 20 min. after the game with the Milwaukee Brewers today.
Sanchez has been a disappointment, hitting just .202 with three home runs and 17 RBIs and hundred and 96 plate appearances this season.
The arrival of the league hastened Sanchez departure. Sanchez may be called back later this summer, but will have to put up some numbers at the AAA level.
