Rockies Reach Agreement With Boone Logan – Three-year Deal

Rockies rumorsThe Colorado Rockies went into the 2013 Winter Meetings with a goal of finding left-handed relief help for the bullpen. After their second consecutive last-place finish in the National League West, the Rockies came to the conclusion that overhauling the bullpen was a priority.

Today the Rockies announced they have reached an agreement with left-hander Boone Logan on a three-year deal according to Jon Heyman of CBS Sports. The deal is pending a physical.

The team previously added the LaTroy Hawkins  and were said to be interested in free-agent J.P. Howell and Joaquin Benoit. Logan pitched to a 3.38 ERA and a 43.1% ground ball rate over 176 innings of work the past four years with the Yankees.  Financial details have yet to be release  but John Paul Morosi  reports the contract would exceed $14 million.
