Joe Maddon vs Davey Johnson – Pine Tar Debate

It’s a shame that the Washington Nationals and the Tampa Bay Rays are only going play each other three times this year. Managers Davey Johnson and Joe Maddon can talk smack with the best of the WWE superstars. Today Johnson said Madden should “read the rule book”

“Any time there’s a rule violation, as far as I’m concerned, it’s just a rule violation. My only comment to him is read the rulebook. It’s simple.” Maddon replied, Maddon: “I totally understand that. Davey’s right. I’m incapable of reading the rulebook, and there’s also reading between the lines in some situations that needs to be looked at, too. He’s been around long enough; he knows better than that.”

MLB as yet to decide if any penalties will be imposed on Rays relief pitcher Joel Peralta. The Rays have one more game with the Nats, giving both men another opportunity to entertain and continue their smack down.
