David Price K’s 10 in Return from DL – With 70 Pitches

Tampa Bay Rays ace David Price returned from the disabled list and was on a 90 pitch limit  in his first start in seven weeks.

Price  would throw 70 pitches in seven innings, 48 for strikes and struck out 10 Houston Astros in a 8-0 win. He allowed  just three hits and walked none.

Price (2-4) had missed the last 44 games with a left triceps strain in his first-ever stint on the DL.

Desmond Jennings backed up the effort with three hitss and four RBI including his 10th home run of the season. He would also score 2 runs.

Tampa Bay pounded out 12 hits in their second consecutive shutout and have now outscored the Astros 20-0 in the first two games of a four-game set.

Jamey Wright, Joel Peralta, and Kyle Farnsworth  combined to finish the four-hitter, a night after the Rays two-hit the Astros.
