Seattle’s Michael Morse Suffers Quadriceps Strain, Listed Day-to Day

Mariners NewsSeattle Mariners right fielder Michael Morse suffered a right quadriceps strain in last night’s action  against the San Diego Padres trying to score from first base on a double.

Morse was clearly laboring as he reached third and was easily thrown out at home after being waived home by third-base coach Daren Brown.

For the time being, Morse has been listed as day-to-day and was replaced the lineup by Jason Bay.

Morse has dealt with other injuries this year. In April, Morse missed three games with a small fracture in his right pinky finger.

The Mariners face the Padres for another two-game set, this time in Petco Park. Joe Saunders (3-5, 6.09) will try to put together a good road start against the Padres and left-hander Eric Stults (4-4, 4.22).
