Rays Walk-Off Win Over Red Sox Forces Game 4 in ALDS

Rays NewsThe Tampa Bay Rays beat the Boston Red Sox with a walk-off to win Game 3 of the ALDS and force a Game 4. Jose Lobaton hit a solo home run with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning after Rays closer Fernando Rodney blew a save in the top of the inning. The homer breathed some life back into the Rays season .

Tampa Bay took a win-or-go-home game for the fourth time in nine days.

Evan Longoria‘s two-out, three-run homer in the fifth off Clay Buchholz rallied the Rays to a 3-all tie and the Rays took a lead into the ninth when Delmon Young, put Tampa Bay ahead 4-3 with an RBI grounder in the eighth.

Wil Myers left Monday night’s game against the Red Sox before the eighth inning because of cramping in both of his legs. The Rays announced that Myers was receiving IV fluids shortly after he exited the game.

The Rays cut Boston’s lead in the best-of-five AL division series to 2-1. Game 4 is Tuesday night, with Jake Peavy starting for the Red Sox against Jeremy Hellickson.
