NL Recaps – Philadelphia Phillies Slide Continues

"<strongDENVER – The Philadelphia Phillies Cliff Lee lost to Christian Frederich and the Colorado Rockies 6-2 .

Lee is now 1-6 on the year, and gave up two runs in six innings of work.

The Phillies have lost 11 of their past 12 games including five straight in their current losing streak.

Frederich pitched six strong innings striking out seven and giving up one earned run.

The Phillies could muster only two runs total in the hitter friendly Coors Field.

Carlos Gonzalez had three hits for the Rockiesand Michael Cuddyer had a triple and a double and scored two runs.

Milwaukee 10– Pittsburgh 7  Cody Ransom hit a grand slam with two outs in the bottom of the eighth inning to lead the Brewers to a 10 – 7 victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Ryan Braun hit two home runs for Milwaukee. Pittsburgh’s Andrew McCutchen hit a solo homer in the ninth-inning

New York 5 – Atlanta 7  Chipper Jones homered and David Ross drove in four runs in the Atlanta Braves beat the New York Mets 7-3. the two teams combined for 21 hits on the evening.

Washington 5– Miami 1  Ryan Zimmerman went three for four including a two run home run to lead the Washington Nationals to a 5-1 victory over the Miami Marlins.

St. Louis 3 – Cincinnati 5  The Cincinnati Reds won their fourth consecutive game thanks to a costly era by Alan Craig in the seventh-inning. The Reds beat the Cardinals 5-3

Arizona 1 – Chicago 8  Alfonso Soriano hit two home runs and the Chicago Cubs outlasted the Arizona Diamondbacks 8-1 , Soriano also had two doubles. The game had a four hour rain delay.

Houston 1 – Giants 5  Madison Bumgarner dominated for seven strong innings of two hit ball and the San Francisco Giants beat the Houston Astros 5-1. Bumgarner is now 11-5

San Diego 1  – Los Angeles 2   Matt Kemp and Andre Either returned to the Los Angeles Dodgers lineup from the disabled list and the Dodgers beat the Padres 2-1, Kemp had two hits in his return. Clayton Kershaw picked up the victory as he pitched six innings of one run ball while striking out six.
