Sam Fuld Agrees to Minor League Deal With Oakland

A's NewsSuper Sam Fuld as he was affectinately to Tampa Bay Rays fans has found a new home on the west coast. Fuld reached an agreement on a minor league deal with the Oakland Athletics on a minor league deal with an invite to spring training.

Fuld could make $800 thousand in 2014 if he makes the Major League roster and includes incentives based upon games played.

Fuld made 653 plate appearances and posted a .230/.301/.326 ove this three years with the Rays, 2011-2013 and came to Tampa Bay as part of the deal that sent Matt Garza to the Chicago Cubs.

More of a defensive player than a big bat, Fuld can play all outfield positions and will compete for a spot on the A’s bench. Fuld did make an appearance as a relief pitcher for Tampa Bay last September.
