A-Rod Homer Passes Griffey on All Time List

A-Rod reached another milestone last night.

New York Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez passed former teammate Ken Griffey Jr. on the all-time home run list with his 631st blast in Friday’s 6-2 victory over the host Boston Red Sox.

Rodriguez stands alone in fifth place on the career list. Rodriguez led off the fifth by crushing a Clay Buchholz pitch over the “Green Monster” wall in left field and out of Fenway Park. It was his second homer of the season.

Apparently not everyone was happy about the big home run. In his customary ignorance Jose Canseco tweeted in. At some point Canseco is going to need protection from himself.

As for A-Rod? He will continue his march towards 700 home runs, in hopes that people forget his past “indiscretions”
