Matt Harvey and Mets Beat Roy Halladay and Philles

New York Mets newsMatt Harvey turned in seven innings, giving up one run on three hits and striking out nine, and John Buck hit a three-run homer and the Mets beat Roy Halladay and the Philadelphia Phillies 7-2 in Philadelphia.

Halladay gave up seven runs and six hits in 4+ innings of work.  He is now allowed 12 runs in 7 1/3 innings this season.  Halladay says he feels fine. “Ninety-five percent is mental,” Halladay said. “It’s simplifying and getting back to basics and not trying to force things.”

Harvey improved to 2-0 on the season. “A lot of things were working good for me,” Harvey said. “I’ve been throwing strikes and have had good run support.”

“Nothing surprises me about him,” Mets manager Terry Collins said. “When he needs it, it’s there.”
