Rockies Lose Troy Tulowitzki For 8 Weeks

The Colorado Rockies will be without the services of Troy Tulowitzki  for at least eight more weeks.  Tulowitzki is scheduled for surgery Thursday on an area around his left groin. Rockies general manager Dan O’Dowd confirmed the scheduled surgery with The Denver Post.  Tulowitzki was injured in a game against Houston on May 30 and pulled himself out of a rehab AAA game on June 13.

Tulowitzki has won the Gold Glove, Silver Slugger Award and gone to the All-Star game each of the last two years.  O’Dowd said. “Like any club, we are built around our best players. Even if we were having an average year rather than a bad year, losing him would be problematic.” Tulowitzki  is hitting .287 with eight home runs, 27 RBIs and a .360 on-base percentage.
