MLB Suspends 12 Players In Biogenesis Scandal

Rangers NewsMajor League Baseball has agreed to 50-game suspensions with 12 players for their roles in the Biogenesis case, FoxSports.com reported Monday. Milwaukee Brewers outfielder and 2011 The 2011 NL MVP Ryan Braun was suspended last month for his role in the scandal for 65 games.

Th following 12 players accepted the suspensions and will not appeal their cases accruing to published reports. Still to be suspended is New York Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez. Rodriguez was expected to be served with the harshest penalty, and an announcement was expected later Monday, which will be appealed.

Barring any last minute agreement with MLB, Rodriguez’s appeal would be heard by arbitrator Fredric Horowitz. However according to published reports that possibility is off the table, as the two sides broke off talks on Saturday
