Jonathan Lucroy 5 for 5 With 2 Home Runs to Lead Brewers Win

Milwaukee Brewers newsJonathan Lucroy went 5 for 5 with two home runs and four RBI to lead the Milwaukee Brewers to a 8-5 when over the Philadelphia Phillies. Cole Hamels pitched five innings and surrendered 12 hits and seven runs, six earned, while striking out three. Hamels record is now 1-9 and his ERA is 4.86.  The Brewers pounded Phillies pitching for 14 hits overall.

Yovani Gallardo (4-5) pitched into the sixth inning allowing five earned runs while striking out six, to snap a personal four-game losing streak.  Francisco Rodriguez picked up his second save of the season  for Milwaukee.

Domonic Brown crushed his 14th home run of the season for  Philadelphia and Jimmy Rollins added two hits and two runs scored  Including a solo home run.

Milwaukee ended a six-game losing streak and finished May with a .214 winning percentage (6-22) to tie the Seattle Pilots, who went 6-22 in August 1969 during their lone season before becoming the Milwaukee Brewers in 1970.
