The Los Angeles Dodgers are closing in to a contract agreement with reliever Brian Wilson. The former Giants closer spent the final two months of the 2013 season with Los Angeles and reestablished himself after undergoing Tommy John surgery in 2012.
Wilson had an 0.46 ERA with 21 strikeouts in 19⅔ innings, while allowing just 18 runners to reach base with the Dodgers.
Wilson had been linked to the Detroit Tigers but after Detroit signed closer Joe Nathan, re-signing with the Dodgers became his primary option.
The team is still in need of a veteran left-handed reliever. J.P. Howell filled the role last year, however Howell is looking for a three-year deal and the Dodgers aren’t biting.

The team did not tender a contract to reliever Ronald Belisario on Monday, making the four-year veteran a free agent.
However the Dodgers did tender contracts to their other arbitration-eligible players, Clayton Kershaw, Kenley Jansen and A.J. Ellis. On Friday, the Dodgers reached agreements with a trio of non-tender candidates, signing Mike Baxter, Drew Butera and Scott Elbert
