Hyun-Jin Ryu Shuts Down Angels With 2-Hit Shutout

Ryu was in total control throughout the game  only allowing a single  to Howie Kendrick In the second inning  and a double to Chris Iannetta  in the eighth.

Ryu  retired 19 consecutive batters at one point, struck out seven and walked none. Ryu needed just 113 pitches to complete the gem.

Dodger shortstop Luis Cruz provided all the offense Ryu would need with a two run homer  in the fifth inning.

Ryu improved his record to 6-2 on the season, lowered his ERA to 2.89 in his rookie season in the Major Leagues and the Dodgers improved to 22-28  and remain seven games behind the Arizona Diamondbacks in the National League West.
