Kenley Jansen Not Brandon League Gets Save For Dodgers

Dodgers fantasy newsWith one out to get to preserve Clayton Kershaw‘s fourth win of the season Dodgers manager Don Mattingly chose Kenley Jansen over Brandon League.  League has  6.28 ERA and has surrendered runs in seven of his last 10 outings.

Mattingly gave League a cautious endorsement on Monday when asked if the right-hander was still the closer.

“Yeah, for now he is,” Mattingly said. “I hate to say it like that. But yeah, for now.” For now may be over,  although Mattingly seems noncommittal about who the closer is or will be for the Dodgers,  nor did he seem concerned with any controversy about the issue.

“We’ll see,” Mattingly said. “I don’t know if I really have to set roles. We always talk about where we’re at in the lineup. I know we like to create controversies and all that.

Mission accomplished.
