The Texas Rangers placed second baseman Ian Kinsler on the 15 day disabled list with bruised ribs and recalled infielder Jurickson Profar to take his place on the roster. the move was retroactive to Saturday and became necessary when Kinsler was unable to swing a bat Sunday.
Profar, 20, entered the 2013 season as the number one prospect in all of baseball. Profar is batting .278/ .370/ .438 with six steals at AAA Round Rock. He also has six steals. Profar was called up late last September, during which he batted .176/.176/.471 over 17 plate appearances.
