Josh Reddick to Miss Four Game Series Against Indians

Oakland athletics newsJosh Reddick was scratched from Tuesday’s lineup with a sore right wrist and is expected to miss the entire four game series against the Cleveland Indians.Reddick is coming off of a career year where he batted .242 with 32 HR and 85 RBI and helped lead the Oakland Athletics to a division title  coming down to the season’s final day.

Bob Melvin did indicate it’s likely for his outfielder to miss the series but made no mention of the disabled list.

Fantasy Play:  Chances are Reddick was on your bench already and this just means he should stay there. Expecting regression when Reddick was drafted after an eye-opening but perhaps lucky, 2013, is one thing. Reddick coming into Tuesday’s game with a .152 batting average (third lowest in the AL) with just one home run and 14 RBI is another. Reddick was in a 3/27 slump his last 10 games so he hasn’t been start-worthy for awhile, which should make the rest of the fantasy week an easy decision.
