“Speedy” Miguel Cabrera, Tigers Cruise To Victory

Tigers NewsDetroit Tigers fans, don’t be confused. The game was not played in rapid speed, nor was it even close. But what did happen put a wide smile on arguably the Tigers best players face, something to consider since Justin Verlander is the best pitcher in the game.

So what made Miguel Cabrera so happy in a game that was so cold that it was deemed the coldest baseball game start in Detroit since 1996? By showcasing some skills that he normally isn’t able to.

Today the bulky super star third baseman not only stole a base, but also hit a triple.

You may be asking yourself why that is such a big deal. Simply put, that is the first time he has ever done that in the Major Leagues.

While these statistics will probably be brushed off by the common fan, have no doubt, this was something special for Cabrera and if he is smiling, so will many Tigers fans as his bat most likely is about to heat up to dangerous proportions for opposing pitchers.

On the day the Tigers took the game 11-1, Cabrera did not hit any home runs and there was no flirtation of a no-hitter. But if you looked at the stocky Tigers grin, you would not had been able to tell otherwise.
