Cincinnati Reds right-hander Homer Bailey threw his second no-hitter in the past 10 months and the first in the major leagues this season in a 3-0 when over the San Francisco Giants.
Bailey took a perfect game into the seventh inning and walked Gregor Blanco. He would be the only Giants hitter to reach base.
“Every dog has its day twice, I guess,” Bailey said. “It felt good to do it front of the Cincinnati fans.”
The Reds are now 48-36 and four games back of the division leading Pittsburgh Pirates.
