McLouth returns to the Orioles for another season

Nate McLouth found new life as a member of the Baltimore Orioles after being released by the Pittsburgh Pirates and joining the team in June.

McLouth hit 268/.342/.435 in 236 plate appearances as the Orioles made the playoffs for the first time in 15 seasons. His performance was enough to guarantee another opportunity for 2013

The deal reportedly is for one year and $2 million with $500,000 in incentives. the deal has not been officially announced by the team.

Reportedly the Orioles were talking with representatives for Nick Swisher and re-signing McLouth would not likely preclude the Orioles for looking to upgrade the team further.

The Orioles also made an offer to former Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Nate Schierholtz, but it was turned down this morning.
