Orioles Bounce Back Against Yankees To Even Series

Baltimore Orioles news

Davis delivered a two-run single to right center

Chris Davis drove in two runs and Wei-Yin Chen pitched into the seventh inning and the Baltimore Orioles evened up the American League Division Series with the New York Yankees with a 3-2 win. Jim Johnson who gave up five runs in the ninth inning in game one pitched a perfect ninth inning for the save. The win marked the Orioles’ 30th victory in 39 one-run games this season.

Yankees starter Andy Pettitte pitched seven innings of three run ball, and struck out five. Derek Jeter and Mark Teixeira had two hits each for the Yankees. The two teams have now split the 20 games they have played this season as the series heads back to New York.

Baltimore rookie, right-hander Miguel Gonzalez, will make his postseason debut Wednesday in New York. Last year, the Yankees won their first-round opener against Detroit but were knocked out in five games.
