The Braves return to the postseason after a disastrous 2011 where they blew and a half game lead and finished September 9-18. The 2012 Braves moved within four games of the Washington Nationals with eight games left to play. Freeman hit his 22nd home run of the year off Mike Dunn.

Chipper Jones who is playing remembers 2011 and how this club is different. ”They took the attitude last year to try and hang on,” Jones said. ”This year we took the bull by the horns. We’re shooting for the stars. We’re still shooting for the division until they close us out.” Jones led off the ninth inning with a double and scored on Freeman’s home run.
