Minnesota Twins outfielder Josh Willingham will undergo an MRI today to check for damage on his injured shoulder, which occurred as he slammed into the left-field fence in a game with the New York Yankees on Monday night. Willingham is listed as day-to-day. With eight games left in the season and the Twins not heading for the playoffs, Willingham’s 2012 season may well be over.

The Twins signed Willingham to a three-year $21 million deal this past off-season and has been a model of consistency for the team. Willingham has hit .260/.366/.524 with 35 home runs and 110 RBI for the Twins. earlier this summer Willingham was the subject of numerous  trade rumors.
