NL Recaps – Harper’s two home runs lead Nationals over Marlins

Washington 9  – Miami 4 – Bryce Harper hit two home runs and was later tossed out of the game for spiking his helmet in frustration. The Nationals beat Miami 8-4. Ross Detwiler allowed three runs on four hits in 5 2/3 innings for Washington. Jacob Turner allowed five runs and six hits in five innings of work into the loss for Miami.

Atlanta 2  –  San Diego 8Eric Stults pitch six innings and allowed one unearned run and struck out five to lead the San Diego Padres over Tommy Hanson and the Atlanta Braves. Chase Headley had two RBI for the Padres.

St. Louis 0  – Pittsburgh 5  – Wandy Rodriguez pitched six shutout innings and three relievers combined to shut out the Cardinals the rest of the way and the Pirates beat St. Louis 5-0. Pedro Alvarez had a long home run in the third inning for three RBI and all the runs that Pittsburgh would need.

New York 3 – Philadelphia 2Matt Harvey pitched into the seventh inning allowing two earned runs and striking out six and the Mets beat the Phillies 3-2. Lucas Duda homered for the Mets.  Tyler Cloydstarted for Cole Hamels allowed three earned runs in six innings of work and struck out five.

Milwaukee 3  – Chicago 1 –  Mike Fiers pitched 7 1/3 solid innings to lead the Milwaukee Brewers to a 3-1 win over the Cubs. John Axford earned his 22nd save of the season for Milwaukee. Jeff Samardzija took the loss for Chicago. Norichika Aoki and Ryan Braun had two hits apiece for Milwaukee.

San Francisco 6 – Houston 4 –  Hunter Pence hit a three-run homer and Joaquin Arias drove in two to lead the San Francisco Giants over the Houston Astros 6-4

Los Angeles 10 – Colorado 8  – Joe Blanton pitched into the eighth inning, and allow prayer runs while striking out five and Hanley Ramirez and AJ Ellis hit home runs for the Dodgers in a 10-8 win over Colorado. Tyler Colvin had two hits and two RBI for Colorado.

Cincinnati 6 – Arizona 2 – Chris Heisey him hit two home runs, Brandon Phillips and Dinoner Navarro added two more in the Cincinnati Reds beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 6-2. Mat Latos
