Detroit – Kansas City – Justin Verlander allowed eight runs and 12 hits over 5 2/3 innings of work, while striking out six and walking 34 Detroit.  Mike Moustakas had three hits and drove home three runs in Kansas City beat the Tigers 9-8. Delmon Young in a two run homer for the Tigers

Seattle 5 – Minnesota 2Dustin Ackley hit a three-run homer to lead the Seattle Mariners over the Minnesota Twins and Scott Diamond 5-2

Boston 5 – Los Angeles 6 – Mike Trout and Albert Pujols homered and the Angels rallied for two runs against Alfredo Aceves and the Angels beat the Red Sox 6-5.  Clay Buchholz pitched seven innings for the Red Sox allowing four earned runs, walking three and striking out five. Jered Weaver pitched seven innings for the Angels allowing five runs, four earned, walked one and struck out five
