Joey Votto Making Progress – Return Date Uncertain

Cincinnati Reds News

Votto’s Return To Reds Lineup Soon?

Rather than talk about when he would return to the Reds lineup, Joey Votto talked about how much progress he is making since undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery on July 17. Votto reinjured his knee and had another procedure on August 10, while rehabbing from the first surgery.

“I don’t know,” Votto said. “But I’ve come a long way. I feel like I can’t put a day on it. But I feel like I’ve come a long way. I don’t think it will be too much longer.” Cincinnati.com

At this point, the Reds nor Votto wants to rush matters when it comes to his return. The Reds are 26-12 since Votto went to the disabled list.

The Reds have come together as a team since Votto’s absence led by Brandon Phillips, outfielder Ryan Ludwick and third baseman Scott Rolen, and younger Reds including Todd Frazier and Jay Bruce.

Johnny Cueto, Mat Latos have anchored the pitching staff, and Aroldis Chapman is having Cy Young award type season as the closer.
