AL Recaps – Rangers Rally to Beat Yankees And Avoid Sweep

Baseball NewsTexas 10 – New York 6 – The Texas Rangers rallied from a 5-4 deficit to beat the New York Yankees, and avoid a four game sweep at Yankee Stadium.

Derek Holland pitched into the sixth inning and allowed five runs, four earned for the Rangers.

Ivan Nova gave up four runs for the Yankees and finished with a no decision. David Murphy went 3-for-5 with a double and two RBI and Adrian Beltre went 2-for-3 with three RBI for Texas.

Boston 3 – Baltimore 6 – Clay Buchholz  allowed three runs in eight innings of work, striking out seven and walking three. Adam Jones had a two-run double and Mark Reynolds a solo home run in the first two innings, and Buchholz cruised from there. Cody Ross went 3-for-5 with a double and an RBI

Chicago 7 – Toronto 2 –  Alex Rios hit a three-run homer and Francisco Liriano picked up his first win as a member of the Chicago White Sox. Tyler FlowersDayan ViciedoAlexei Ramirez and Dewayne Wise all hit solo home runs  for Chicago.

Oakland 3 – Kansas City 0 – Yoenis Cespedes hit his 15th home run of the year and Coco Crisp added his sixth and the Oakland A’s beat the Kansas City Royals 3-0 . Rookie Dan Straily pitched 6 1/3 shutout innings, giving up three hits and striking out two. Jemile Weeks had an RBI single for Oakland.

Tampa Bay 7  – Los Angeles 0 – David Price allowed three hits over seven shutout innings and struck out eight to win his 16th game of the season.  Evan Longoria, Ben Zobrist and B.J. Upton all homered for Tampa Bay
