Cincinnati 3 – Chicago 0 –  Johnny Cueto won his 15th game of the season allowing three hits over eight innings of work.

Ryan Ludwick and Jay Bruce homered for the Reds.

Aroldis Chapman earned his 28th save of the season, and his third in as many games.

Brooks Raley allowed three runs on five hits in six innings for the Cubs.

Washington 4 – Arizona 7 – Patrick Corbin held the Nationals to two runs on four hits in seven innings. Ross Detwiler allowed five runs, four earned, and three hits and failed to make it through the fifth inning. Paul Goldschmidt went 2-for-4 with a double, stolen base and three RBI for the Diamondbacks

Colorado 6 – San Francisco 9 –  Hunter Pence lead a five-run rally in the eighth inning with a three-run homer to lead the San Francisco Giants over the Colorado Rockies. Barry Zito allowed four runs on seven hits in 5 1/3 innings and was not involved in the decision.  Brandon Belt doubled twice and went 4 for 4 for the Giants. Josh Rutledge went 2-for-5 with an RBI double and stolen base for the Rockies. The teams combined for 27 hits

Milwaukee 5 – Houston 3 –  Yovani Gallardo struck out eight Houston Astros, allowing just three runs. Corey Hart hit his 22nd home run of the year.

San Diego 5 – Pittsburgh 11 – The Pittsburgh Pirates rallied from a 5-0 deficit, scoring nine runs in the fourth inning to beat the San Diego Padres 11-5. Andrew McCutchen and Michael McKenry each drove in two runs during the big inning. Clint Barmes had a grand slam in the fourth. Erik Bedard allowed five runs (three earned) on five hits and four walks in five innings . Neil Walker went 5-for-5 with a home run, double and two RBI

St. Louis 7 –  Philadelphia 8 – Ryan Howard went 2-for-3 with a home run, walk and two RBI. Matt Carpenter went 4-for-6 with a double and three RBI for the Cardinals. Vance Worley worked into the sixth inning striking out four and walking to and received a no decision.

Los Angeles 5 – Miami 0Chris Capuano struck out 10 and allowed just two hits in eight innings to lead the Los Angeles Dodgers over the Miami Marlins 5-0 . Hanley Ramirez was 2 for 4 with three RBI and a run scored for the Dodgers. The Dodgers had 12 hits compared to just the two hits for the Marlins.
