AL Recaps – Rays’ Price Gets 15th Win over Twins

David Price Tampa Bay Rays NewsTampa Bay 4 – Minnesota 2 –  David Price recorded his 15th win of the season, allowing two runs and seven hits over seven innings of work. BJ Upton hit two homers and had three RBI. Matt Joyce also homered for the Rays. Price is now with a 4-0 record, 1.66 ERA and 46/11 K/BB ratio over 43 1/3 innings since the All-Star break. Nick Blackburn allowed four runs and 11 hits in six innings for the Twins.

Oakland 9 – Chicago 7 –  Jonny Gomes and  Brandon Inge helped the Oakland Athletics come from behind to beat Chicago White Sox 9-7 . Kevin Youkilis hit his 14th home run for the White Sox. Grant Balfour recorded his eighth save of the season for Oakland

New York 5 – Toronto 2 –  Casey McGehee hit a three-run home run and the Yankees  beat the Toronto Blue Jays to win their fourth straight game. Ivan Nova allowed two runs and five hits over 7 1/3 innings of work, he walked one and struck out 10. Derek Jeter had two hits for the Yankees, and leads the American League with 150 total hits.

Boston 2 – Cleveland 5 – Franklin Morales gave up three runs on two hits and four walks over 5 1/3 innings. Adrian Gonzalez  who os hitting .385 (40-for-104) with six homers and 31 RBI over his last 27 games, had a two-run double for Boston. Chris Perez picked up his 31st save of the season for the Indians

Detroit 2 – Texas 2 – Mike Olt delivered a pinch-hit RBI single with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning to score Nelson Cruz and the Rangers walked off in victory over the Detroit Tigers.
