NL Recaps – Roy Halladay Dominant in Win over St. Louis

Roy Halladay Philadelphia PhilliesSt. Louis 1 – Philadelphia 3 – Roy Halladay allowed just one run and two hits over eight innings of work, while striking out eight, Carlos Beltran accounted for the only run the Cardinals with a solo home run. Kyle Lohse turned in a strong effort for the Cardinals in a losing cause. Chase Utley launched a two-run homer for the Phillies.

Milwaukee 3 – Houston 4 – Brian Bogusevic‘s RBI single in the ninth inning let the Houston Astros to a walkoff victory over the Milwaukee Brewers.  John Axford was charged with his eighth blown save of the season

Los Angeles 5 – Miami 2 – Clayton Kershaw worked into the seventh inning allowing two runs on three hits, while striking out seven. Justin Ruggiano homered for the Marlins.

Atlanta 4 – New York 0 –  Paul Maholm tossed three-hitter and got run support with two-run home runs from Jason Heyward and Dan Uggla

San Diego 9 – Pittsburgh 8 – Chase Headley hit a pair of home runs and had five RBI for the Padres.  Huston Street notched his 21st save of the season. Garret Jones had two hits and scored three runs for the Pirates, including a home run. James McDonald gave up seven runs on seven hits in 4 1/3 innings for the Pirates.

Cincinnati 10 – Chicago 8 -Todd Fraser had two doubles and four RBI for the Reds. Aroldis Chapman earned his 26th save of the season, Ryan Ludwick is 20th homer of the year.

Colorado – San Francisco

Washington – Arizona Michael Morse and Ryan Zimmerman homered for the Nationals.
