Texas Rangers newsTexas 10 – Boston 9 – Josh Hamilton hit his 30th homer and drove in four runs.  Nelson Cruz hit his 18th home run for the Rangers. Josh Beckett surrendered eight runs in five-plus innings. Adrian Gonzalez collected three doubles and three RBI. Will Middlebrooks hit his 15th home run and Cody Ross hit his 17th home run for the Red Sox

Minnesota 2 – Cleveland 6 – Justin Masterson gave the Indians seven strong innings today and  Shin-Soo Choo went 4 for 4 with two RBIs to end the Indians 11 game losing streak

Los Angeles 9 – Oakland 9 – Dan Straily surrendered five runs in 4 2/3 innings  Ryan Cook recorded his 12th save for the Athletics. Chris Carter went 2-for-3 with a two-run homer and a walk in the A’s 9-8 win. Zack Greinke gave up four runs in five innings. Kendrys Morales went 3-for-5 with two homers and three RBI

Seattle 2 – Baltimore 9 –  Kyle Seager went 3-for-4 with a two-run homer for the Mariners. Matt Wieters doubled twice and drove in five runs for the Orioles. Steve Johnson struck out nine batters in his first major league start for Baltimore.

New York 12 – Detroit 8 –  Curtis Granderson hit his 30th home run of the season and had four RBI to help the Yankees out slug Tigers. CC Sabathia (12-3) gave up five runs — three earned — and eight hits while striking out seven over 6 2/3 innings

Toronto 2 – Tampa Bay 3 –  Alex Cobb struck out seven and walked none. B.J. Upton doubled home a run and stole a base. David Cooper hit a solo home run for the Blue Jays

Kansas City 2 – Chicago 1Jeremy Guthrie won his first game since May allowing five hits over eight innings. Solo home runs by Mike Moustakas and Salvador Perez provided all the runs for Kansas City.
